Chushul Home
Tierra Sagrada, The Sacred Earth Foundation sends our appeal to you to help in support of an orphanage, Chushul Home, that provides love and support to children of Tibet.
We are an acting umbrella for tax deductable donations to this wonderful orphanage that is overseen by Peggy Day to support these beautiful beings.
Through your donations to Chushul Home, These children receive food, shelter, clothing and education in a loving environment in Tibet. Please open your heart to generosity as these children are given an opportunity to also remember their history and their culture.
Here's the latest update from Peggy Day
Boy, did we have fun this summer. In August, I brought two amazing ER nurses, Renee and Julie from Salinas and Max, an 18 year old musician from Stinson Beach, to meet the kids and it was love at first sight. Music truly is the language of the heart and we got into it, big time. Max also bought a new guitar, a keyboard, two harmonicas and four sets of drumsticks for the kids. I had four little ones with drum sticks on the kitchen table, using the colander as our cymbal, who couldn't follow a beat but were sure having fun! The kids even made a rap song about Chushul Home that said that even if they go away, they will always call Chushul, their family home. That's big for an orphaned child.
And then there's the day-to-day... once again, the water pump is burned out and it's not even winter! Someday, I hope to bring over somebody that can figure out the problem. In the meantime, I leave October 12th for two weeks of work at Chushul Home. I am bringing two pair of heavy duty work gloves and I have access to a truck for a load to the dump and compost for the new greenhouse. I hope to have enough money ($2,200) to replace windows and mend crumbling corners but right now I am more concerned with the children's essential needs.
Please help us raise the $15,000 needed to cover the basics for the next year - food, clothing and care. Through the kindness of Tierra Sagrada, the Sacred Earth Foundation, based in Santa Barbara, you can make a tax-deductible donation for Chushul Home through paypal on their web site - www.sacredearthfound.org. You can also make a check out to the SACRED EARTH FOUNDATION and mail to me at: PMB 426, 1001 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965. 2% administration fee goes to the Sacred Earth Foundation and every other penny is for the kids. I sold one of my antique Tibetan carpets to pay for this next trip.
I plan to blog on my web site - www.peggydayadventures.com so please check in if you want to hear the latest and greatest from Chushul Home. I am open to suggestions and ideas so feel free to send them my way. I am always looking for people to visit Tibet and inspire my children so let me know if you're available February 22 - March 6th for a working/Losar celebration trip.
Tashi Delek!
(May everything be auspicious and wonderful!)
