Though born and raised in the American mid-west, Alyson 'Freddie' LeBlanc has undergone authentic shamanic training. She was unexpectedly called to the ancient tradition of Sangoma in 1998 by Baba Colin Campbell of Cape Town, South Africa, through a 'Throwing of the Bones' divination performed for her while she was visiting a South African friend. Baba Colin identified Alyson as an ancestrally-called inheritor of this ancient healing practice and urged her to accept her calling. Alyson's unsuccessful attempts to identify an appropriate teacher in the United States finally led her back to Africa in 2002, when she reconnected with Baba Colin and his brother, sangoma initiator Baba Naill Campbell, and was accepted for 'thwaasa', the immersion process for the creation of a sangoma.

Journey Through Thwaasa

Freddie's shamanic journey took her to the Kalahari desert and arid veldt of Botswana in early 2003, where she underwent an authentically traditional sangoma initiation for three solid months, learning and being deeply tested by her Babas as well as by other master sangomas during that time. Sangoma training goes on for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until, during a demanding and dangerous 3-day ceremony, an initiate is deemed acceptable to those sangoma elders who carry the powers of the lineage. During her training, Alyson inherited her ancestral spirit, Fredreich, her maternal great-grandfather, and now carries his name as 'Freddie' in her shamanic work. As a practicing member of the Ngwenyama, or Lion, Lodge of Gabarone, Botswana, Freddie works within the Mongoni/Mondau sangoma lineage out of Zulu, Shangaan, Venda, and Tswana heritage.The Ngwenyama Lodge is officially linked with the oldest sangoma healer lineage extant in southern Africa. Following this rigorous experience, she then spent two years of training with Colin and Niall Campbell in South Africa, giving her access to a set of highly unusual and intensely shamanic tools which provide her clients with very deep spiritual access to wisdom, insight, and healing processes.

Her training in ancient African divination provides a unique experience of the ancient art of spiritual diagnosis through the throwing of the bones, which are tied to her ancestral spirits - and to yours during your reading. Each session lasts approximately one hour, includes intense 'downloads' of information from Freddie's lineage of family and African cultural ancestors - working directly with your own lineage ancestors and guides, and personal counseling on the basis of the reading's content towards personal solutions for your life issues.
