ARE YOU READY TO EXPERIENCE THE SACRED JOURNEY OF YOUR LIFE?

Join Patricia Turner and Alan Leon for a tour of Machu Picchu followed by a trip deep into the Amazon Rain Forest to experience the wisdom of a third generation Shipibo tribal shaman. Alan has organized and led these trips for more than 3 decades and has built an intimate relationship with the native people throughout his journeys.

Fair-world solutions through positive cultural contributions.
Our visits have been a strong part of recent cultural revitalization as our interest has given the people new pride in their heritage. More than 80 percent of all monies paid to Sacred Heritage remain in the lands we visit and of that, more than 30 percent goes directly, in above average wages, to the more than 100 indigenous villagers and native healers who assist us in our travels. Since the beginning of this service 30 to 50 percent of our profits have been donated to family and community needs, as well as ecologically and economically sustainable village projects.

Included in the journey price will be offsets for our travel created carbon. These are positive emissions reductions via funding 3rd world projects of poverty alleviation, health benefits and increased biodiversity.

Following 3 days at Machu Picchu, we will stay two nights at the healing center and hotel Hampinear in village of Ollantaytambo. From there we head on to Cusco to visit the ancient ruins and to be guided to the marketplace where crafts gathered from all of Peru may be found. By day 8 we begin our journey deep into the rainforest. Our camps start with a day's ride in a motorized covered canoe, following various rivers into remote rainforest. We travel along the Ucayali River, just down stream from Machu Picchu.

From our first night's camp we will go in the morning to visit a nearby Shipibo indigenous village. From there we will boat deeper into the forest to enjoy our camp in the wilds. The season, the water depth in the smaller rivers, and the shaman traveling with us knowing the areas of good spirits will determine where we stay. The natives accompanying us will be cooking local food and guiding in dugout canoes and forest walks.

The wildlife is here, commonly monkeys, macaws, iguana and sloth, along with all the others, though naturally we can make no promises on what be seen. There are amazing numbers of the Amazon Pink Dolphins in these waters and on most of our journeys we see 30-50 of them.

We will journey with two native healers; the elder will offer his ceremonial prayers and fresh forest herbs for individual healing. To allow time for them to gather and prepare for your particular needs, please let us know before hand (after arrival is possible also). The Shipibo tribal natives we travel with have an ancestral tradition in the use of Ayahuasca, an herbal hallucinogenic healing therapy. The shamans we work with are those who carry the ceremonial lineage of their Grandfather's Grandfathers bringing the stability of their ancient continuum into what can be a life changing and healing experience. The Ayahuasca ceremonial therapy, along with physical healing, can bring positive change to life patterns, addictions, personality, emotions, and even our spirituality. The healing change is usually gained in direct experiential understanding. Again this healing is offered at your own request, responsibility and risk and most likely great personal benefit. The medicinal plants and the ceremonies are only offered, nothing is mandatory.
