What an amazing event! Santiago is one of the most generous and wise people I have ever met. I learned so much from him and from the community that formed around him. On Saturday we enjoyed his music and a traditional Inca meal he cooked in an earthen oven with hot stones heated by Grandfather Fire. On Sunday we spent the day in and out of the sweat lodge learning from Santiago and each other as we healed our souls. Anyone that has the opportunity to attend a meeting with Santiago or any other gathering that Pati organizes will be generously rewarded in heart and spirit. I have been to a previous event with Grandmother Walking Thunder. It is something I will never forget. Thank you Pati for your generosity in bringing these amazing indigenous elders to Colorado for all of us to learn from. Their ancient wisdom is just what we need in these trying times, when we need to learn to live lighter on the earth and more in touch with our environment. — Brian # Reviews from Musica Therapia with Santiago Carhuancho, Quechua Elder from Peru on Friday Nov 12, 2010 Meetup Rating 5.00 5.001 Attendees 45

Santiago brought it! He lead us in music with his flute, guitar, rattles, drum, dance and his beautiful voice in celebration of the Condor & Eagle. He graciously shared the wisdom of the ancients. Very easygoing and soft spoken, he described everything he did and brought everyone together in these special times we live in. — John S.

Dear Pati,

I have been in the presence of a person I believe is Holy; a person who speaks respectfully of all the world's religions; a teacher with compassion for all life. Being in the presence of Angaangaq changed me - a weight has been lifted.

"Santiago Carhuancho was one of the most delightful wisdom keepers that I have had the pleasure of interacting with in Colorado. He addressed the audience in his warm, colorful language that seemed to be a patois of English, Spanish and Quecha, but nevertheless his communication is very clear to everyone. He opened the evening with ceremony, starting a moment of silence for the 20 dead whales and hundreds of seals that have been to found be mysteriously dead. He then explained the Incan directional tradition, and summed up the principle of living in 4 simple precepts. Then he sang and played multiple instruments, oftentimes 3 instruments simultaneously. He quickly handed out instruments to the audience members that did not bring any. I was handed a pair of stones, which I had never played as musical instruments before. Before we knew it, the whole room was engaged in singing songs in a foreign language we did not know, and playing instruments we might not have played before, with a most pleasing sound and experience for all concerned. If you get a chance to be with Santiago, I would highly recommend this unique authentic experience." - Zvia Bird

Dear Pati, 4/2/08

Wow! Three days with Angaangaq at the gorgeous El Capitan Canyon…what an amazing and truly life changing experience! Thank you, thank you, thank you. “Uncle’s urgent message… to “melt the ice in the heart of man” has become a mission statement for me to live by. I find joy in putting a smile on a stranger’s face. I look for ways to be more patient and kind towards my fellow man and not take life so seriously. “Uncle” touched each one of us in that workshop with his drumming, songs, stories, his deep soulful blue eyes and unconditional love. I can’t imagine a better healing recipe for the mind, body and soul. Personally, I had the opportunity to overcome, an irrational fear. I conveyed to Uncle how scared I was to do a sweat lodge for the first time, and his unexpected response was “Great! I hope you’re scared shit-less”. He proceeded to give me that devilish smile and a hug and then kept vigilant of my emotional state as the red hot “grandfather rocks kept arriving at the door of the lodge we had all created. He knew what I was capable of and that the sweat lodge would bring up issues like this for everyone. When I lasted the whole 4 hours, he requested I go out first,“keeping my head held high and to walk in a good way”. I’ll never forget how proud he made me feel that day. Our sacred circle in the canyon workshop experienced laughter and tears, but more importantly unequivocal joy. My husband, friend and I all agreed that just being in the energy of such an enlightened indigenous person created a peaceful place of sanctuary within. Sort of like the “ahhhhh” feeling you get when you first submerge yourself into a soothing, bubbly hot tub - each of our five senses felt bathed, massaged and renewed. Pati, my sincerest thanks go out to you for your vision and courage to make this event happen and I anxiously await for the next function Tierra Sagrada sponsors. I welcome any opportunity to learn more from the indigenous wisdom keepers how better to “walk in a good way”.

Most Gratefully Yours,
